That´s what I hate about atheism. It never adresses serious topics like
this……
It hasn’t been “taken out of the English language.” It is just similar to
a copyright, so that not everyone can just “claim” to be organic. Someone
has to be responsible for what organic is, and in this case, it is the
FDA. This isn’t about if I agree with he idea or not, but this is about
frustration with people who don’t even have a clue about what’s going on.
So the question is WHY do these two supermarket chains, with total control
of Australia’s food, dish up poor quality organic produce? The only reason
I can see is the obvious: It’s impossible for these huge multinational
mega-farms to give the people pure Organic food, grown without the use of
chemicals & petrochemical fertilisers. Because genuine organic produce is
labour intensive, only small scale farmers can do it. So they give us crap
organic food to make the organic movement look bad.
Before WWII, in New York city people were allowed to just bring in their
crops and sell them on the streets with no permits. My how times have
changed. We’ve got to keep fighting this.

to notice on the toothpaste is that little warning that sais “DO NOT
SWALLOW”……..but yet you drink it in your water….yum…yum!!! Simply
because the Gov. sais it’s “OK”….Hmmmm…no wonder teachers have to cheat
to pass students….
@RP4409 @RP4409 Have you never been in the state of Texas? Are you serious
thinking just because there is a rule people won’t break the rule. We
wouldn’t need prisons or jails then would we. Plain and simple follow the
rules if you want to use the term 100% organic and use that USDA green or
brown label. There should be huge fines in place for people or stores that
use the label or term. I sell to Wholefoods and my stuff complies to the
NOP rules. What do you perceive the rules are for?
Welcome to the system we’ve created!! If they allow the sale of
non-inspected food and someone got sick and died there would be a potential
lawsuit that would find them guilty without a doubt. So, since we have
established ourselves as sue-happy because of our inabilities to protect
ourselves at the most basic of levels, they enact laws to control our
stupidity and protect ourselves from ourselves. It’s not “their” fault,
it’s “our” fault. If you believe otherwise, then I’m sorry….

whom I am speaking with because ultimately it is a measure of both their
credibility and worthiness of my time. You fail on both accounts. Let’s
stop talking to each other and go on about our own lives, please.

Here in Australia we have two Supermarket chains that control ALL of the
food. Because of demand both of these chains have now offer a very small
line of organic produce. But it’s absolute CRAP, it’s twice the price and
worst of all the quality is a disgrace, and makes the organic food business
look very bad. It’s garbage & most of it can’t be eaten. I’ve been an small
organic farmer for most of my working life (25 years) so I KNOW there’s no
excuse for such poor quality organic produce.
You don’t get it because you have not read the USDA’s policies on what
determines whether something is actually organic. The point is when someone
sees “organic” they “trust” its 100% organic but that’s not true in most
cases. The USDA has deliberately allowed 4 classifications of “organic” in
order to murky the water and confuse people. Its called sleight of hand.
Most crap labeled organic from corporate farms is NOT organic at all and if
you believe it is then you’re quite naive. ~4409

bureaucracy to a basic commodity that anyone can grow and harvest
themselves – food??? As far as organic, do you really believe that
home-growers can afford the use of Monsanto and DuPont petrochemicals for
agriculture?!?!? Wake u
I hate to play the devil’s advocate here, but there is some sense in some
of the market guidelines they put in that paper. The thing is, if you call
yourself “organic” without being certified by the USDA you could get into
some serious trouble, for good reason, people will easily lie to you about
their growing practices, or feign ignorance, just to sell you a tomato.
Couple in Amarillo, TX got jail time for flat out fraud, not ignorance, for
pulling that stunt.
GOD’S gift to us is being able to poke a friggin’ seed in the ground and
get sustanance…..WAKE UP PEOPLE…..SAY NO TO MONSANTO! DOn’t bend over
and take it in the ass while being force-fed cancer, the food we eat isn’t
even food, if it’s in a package, it’s SHIT!

not organic. I never stated ANTHING about the FDA. Where do you see FDA
ANYWHERE in my comments. Only fools think the FDA can logistically inspect
every item on this earth. Quit putting external crap to my comments.
Justify your claim with proof. Explain your comment how the rules make it
where the food labeled organic is not actually organic now. Prove fraud.
@RP4409 Yes, and they are also the same regulators that kept thalidomide
from being sold in the US. Ever been to Europe? Ever notice the people who
have hands, but no arms? They have little flipper things sticking out of
their shoulders… Want to know why you never see them in the United
States? FDA.

think they would do things differently, instead things like arsenic in
chicken flouride in water, BPA hormone bending chemical in plastics, and
this list can continue corporations patenting DNA type treatments…so
where are these FDA tokeep us safe….o wait thats not their job the only
people who can keep us safe is our selves….
